One of the most important factors for any website is the keywords used. The keywords which are used within the content will help the search engines to determine whether or not the page is relevant to the search the user typed into the search box. Search engines know that it’s important to give their searchers highly relevant information in relation to their searches. Otherwise, people will stop using that search engine. With that being said, one of the most important aspects of getting good rankings and good search engine positions is proper keyword analysis research.
When it comes to doing keyword analysis research you will have two options. The first option is to use free tools. The second option is to use tools which you have to pay some money for. Which type of tools you use will ultimately depend on how serious you are about getting good search engine rankings and how much extra money you have to spend.
There is nothing wrong with free tools. What you must understand about most free tools is that they give you very linear results. What this means is that the keyword or keywords that you input into the free tools will usually only get you results based on the keywords that you input.
For example, if you put dog into a free tool, you will get results back that feature variations of the keyword dog. However, another keyword that may be of benefit to you but which wasn’t displayed would be puppy. Some free keyword tools, may give you such a synonym, but then you would have to do a separate search for puppy, to get all the results related to that keyword.
The advantage to the free tools is pretty clear. You don’t have to pay any money to use them. However, as you can see there are some disadvantages. You may miss keywords that would be perfect for your site because the free tools are so linear in their output. If they do give you a synonym it’s usually only 1 word deep. Therefore, you would then have to plug that synonym into the keyword tool and do the search again. You would have to keep doing this. As you can see, this could get very complicated and time consuming when you’re doing your keyword research analysis.
On the other hand, you have some paid keyword tools that can help you with your keyword research analysis. Most of these tools are designed to be non-linear. They can dig deep into a keyword and actually find related keywords and keyword phrases that you may have never thought of; or ones that would have never been exposed by using free keyword tools. These paid keyword tools will help you to find the low competition but well searched keyword phrases. This is very important.
The advantage of the paid keyword tools is that you will get many keywords that you may have never thought of yourself. They will also help you to find low competition keywords related to your site’s content. They will also do all the extra digging at a fraction of the time that it would take you to do manually while doing your keyword analysis research by hand. The only real disadvantage of the paid tools is they cost money. However, if you’re serious about getting traffic to your site and getting excellent search engine results, than the cost is puny in comparison to what you get in return.

The search engines try to make sure they give the most relevant search results to the end user. When a user types in a certain keyword or keyword phrase, the pages that come up will be ones which have the most relevant content in relation to what the user searched for. Therefore, it is important that you make sure that your site is optimized as best as it can be for the terms your potential website visitor would use when searching. This is why keyword marketing research is very important to your online marketing. If you don’t have the proper keywords and optimized content your site may never be found.
When trying to figure out what keywords you should target you need to put yourself in the shoes of your visitor. What terms would you use if you were searching for the content that was on your site? What type of questions would they type into the search engines looking for information or a solution to their problem? These are questions that should be asked while doing your keyword marketing research. They are critical to your website’s success in terms of targeted traffic.
While making a list by hand is okay, it’s far from perfect. After all, these are terms and questions that you would use while searching for the content you have to offer on your site. Not everyone uses the same terms while searching for information. One of the best investments you can make is a quality keyword tool. These tools will make your keyword marketing research almost effortless.
When it comes to finding the right keywords to use there are two very important factors you need to consider. The first one is how many monthly searches does the keyword get per month? You don’t want to waste your time optimizing you content for a keyword that only gets 20 searches per month. Ideally you should find keywords that get a few hundred to a few thousand searches a month. The second important factor to keyword marketing research is finding keywords that don’t have a lot of competition. If you choose a keyword that is very competitive, your site may never get found.
Most quality keyword tools will allow you to find keywords that have a good amount of searches per month so you don’t waste your time optimizing your site on useless keywords. Most important, they will also provide to you words that have little to no competition. It is much easier to rank for many keywords that get a few hundred or a few thousand searches a month, with little competition; then it is to rank for keywords that get thousands to tens of thousands of searches per month with a lot of competition.
Obviously, there are many free keyword marketing research tools available out there. However, they’re just not as robust or powerful as most of the paid keyword tools. If you’re serious about getting your site ranked and making sure you don’t waste your time optimizing for the wrong keywords, then a good quality keyword tool is an absolute must.

As you can imagine, doing a keyword research search can be very time consuming. As nice as just being able to slap some content together and putting it on a site and getting tons of traffic would be nice, it just isn’t a reality. Making a website that is going to get a lot of traffic is going to take some work and planning on your part. One of the most important activities that you have to do; whether your site is new or already established, is to do a keyword research search.

If you don’t know what your potential website traffic is looking for, you’ll never be able to give them the information they crave. Remember, the search engines are there to provide a service for their users. They want to give the searcher the best possible results related to the search they conducted. You want to try to make sure that you make an effort to get your site in front of as many of these searchers as possible.

The only way you’re going to be able to get your site viewed by the most people is by making sure that before you put your site up you do a keyword research search. If you already have a site, the only way you’re going to ensure that your site continues to grow and get more traffic is to make sure that you keep adding content related to what your visitors are looking for on a regular basis.

If you haven’t put up a site yet, then doing a keyword research search is one of the most important things you can do. It won’t do you much good if you don’t do a keyword research search and just create content. People may not be doing searches related to the content that you put up. You should know what people are looking before you create any type of content.

How exactly should you do a keyword research search?

This is going to depend on a few factors. How serious you are about your website, how much time you have on your hands, and how much extra money you have to spend.

If you don’t have a lot of money to spend, then you’re going to have to do a keyword research search by hand. There is nothing wrong with doing it this way. However, it can become very tedious and time consuming. Because it is so tedious and time consuming, you may be tempted to skimp on this part of the process if you have to do it manually. This is a big mistake. The success of your website and the amount of traffic you can drive to it will depend on your keyword research search.

If you’re very serious about getting good search engine rankings and driving targeted traffic then you may want to look into some paid keyword research tools. Obviously, you’ll also have to have some extra money to spend on the paid keyword tool for your keyword research search. However, in the long run, the time and effort these automated tools will save you will far outweigh any costs you had to incur to obtain them. In fact, you should think of it more as an investment, as opposed to a cost.

There is a lot of keyword research software available to you. Some keyword research software is free, some you have to pay for. You may not understand the difference. In fact, you may not even know why you need keyword research software at all.
The landscape of the internet is constantly changing. It grows very rapidly, even on a daily basis. Your website can easily get lost among all of your competition. One way to help ensure your site isn’t buried onto the last page of the search engine results is to target keywords that people are searching for related to your site.
As mentioned, you also have to make sure that you can get an edge over your competition. The free software is helpful, but because it’s free, it won’t help you as much in this regard as the paid keyword research software can. The paid keyword research software is made specifically to help people with a website find lucrative keywords and gain a complete edge over their competition with minimal hassle and effort.
Free software is very limited in its functionality. Because it’s free there is no motivation to add bells and whistles to it. While you can find a few diamonds by using the free software, you can expect to dig through a lot of rocks to find them. Not only do you have to find good keywords; you have to also make sure the keywords aren’t too competitive. Most of the free keyword software doesn’t do this. You not only have to input the keywords by hand, you then have to further analyze the competition of the keyword by hand.
Because the paid keyword research software makes money, it allows the developers to add a lot of extra features and functionality into the software that the free software just can’t compete with. Most paid keyword software not only will give you large lists of keywords and related keywords quickly and efficiently; they will also analyze the competition for those keywords for you too.
As you can imagine, this will save you a lot of time and effort. Some of the paid keyword research software will allow you to even spy on your competition. It will tell you whether the keyword is worth pursuing based on competition, profitability, and monthly searches.
The most successful people in the world use automation any time they can. By using the paid keyword research software, you’ll better make use of your time. You’ll be able to spend less time on your keyword research, and get your site up faster. The faster your site is up the sooner you’ll be able to get indexed, ranked, and start making money from the site. You should want to treat your website like a business. A true business owner makes investments in the business to help it grow and be profitable. Do yourself a favor and invest in quality keyword research software.

Are you looking to increase traffic to your website? Do you want to be listed in the organic search results? Are you going to use Pay Per Click to drive targeted traffic to your website? If you’ve answered yes to any of the above, then you need to read on about the importance of using a good keyword research tool.

Using a keyword research tool for organic results

Obviously, the lifeblood to any website is the traffic. If you’re not getting traffic to your site then you’re not going to make any money. Getting good rankings in the organic results is getting harder and harder. Certain keywords and keyword phrases are almost impossible to get good rankings for. That is because sites that have been established for a long time and have a lot of links pointing at them dominate the search engine organic listings.

This doesn’t mean that you can’t have success with a website even if it is in a competitive market. You just need to find a quality keyword research tool that will help you to find profitable keywords. You see there are certain keywords, called long tail keywords, that are usually much easier to target. A long tail keyword usually is comprised of 3 or more words. Long tail keywords have an advantage because they are usually not as competitive.

Also, because they are usually very specific and if you can deliver the content, you’re more likely to make money with them. The more words people use while searching for something, the more specific the information they are looking for. If you’re the one to provide it to them, the more likely you are to make money.

A good keyword research tool will be able to find you low competition long tail keyword phrases. By creating content around these long tail keyword phrases you’ll be able to compete even in pretty competitive topics. The best type of keyword research tool to help you with this is going to cost some money. The money you spend pales in comparison to the amount of time and effort the keyword research tool will save you.

Using a keyword research tool for Pay Per Click

If you’re thinking about using Google Adwords to drive some quality traffic to your site, you’re definitely going to want to get yourself a good keyword research tool. The typical way that most people run their Adwords campaigns is through trial and error. They bid on a bunch of keywords and then they watch which keywords are producing results and which ones don’t. They then stop spending on the words that aren’t producing results. This can become quite expensive, and you can wind up throwing a lot of your budget away on worthless words.

A good keyword research tool can be used for your Adwords campaign and actually save you money. That’s because some of them will actually allow you to legally spy on your Adwords competition. Not only that, the keyword research tool will also tell you which keywords are profitable for you competition. You let them waste their money on trial and error then you can swoop in and copy their profitable keywords, and waste very little to no money on keywords that don’t perform.

If you are thinking about building a website then you’re definitely going to want to learn as much about keyword research tools as you possibly can. One of the best ways you can ensure that you get decent traffic is to make sure your content contains the information that searchers are looking for. There are many factors which determine how websites get indexed and the position in which they get ranked for.

One of the most important factors is the on page optimization of your site. This includes the keywords that you use on the pages of your website. Most people who have websites rely on keyword research tools to help them know what type of content they should put on their site to attract visitors and make money.

The first thing you have to determine when it comes to keyword research tools is whether you’re going to use free tools or paid tools. Only you can decide which choice is right for you. If your site is nothing more than a site built as a hobby, then you probably really don’t need to look into any paid keyword research tools.

On the other hand, if you want your site to make money; whether it is from Google Adsense, affiliate commissions, or Cost Per Action, then you really should look into some paid keyword research tools. There are many paid keyword research tools out there. You just have to find the right one for you.

When evaluating keyword research tools just keep these questions in mind:

•	How much am I willing to spend? Sit down and think about how much you’re willing to spend on keyword software.
•	What features am I looking for? If you know anything about keyword research software, then you’ll already probably have a good idea about what features you would like to have. If you don’t know anything about keyword research tools then you’ll have to make notes about what features you like on certain products.
•	How easy is it to use? If you’re technologically savvy then you’re probably not going to have to worry about this too much. If you’re not as comfortable with running software then you’ll have to make sure the software provides a step by step guide or video tutorials. You may also want to make sure they have a good support system, in case you do have to ask them a technical question.
•	Will it help my site get traffic and be profitable? The answer to this question will be yes with most any of the paid keyword research tools. However, in this case, it’s helpful if you can find specific people like you who have used the software and reported good results. You can usually find this type of information within testimonials on the sales page. It is true that testimonials can be faked. However, if there are testimonials along with links to actual websites, these are usually legitimate.

By researching the different keyword research tools available, you’ll be able to find one that is right for you. These tools are used by many people with many different types of sites. They help them to provide relevant content to what people are looking for. If you can do that, then the search engines will reward you with good rankings.

If you are thinking about building a website and trying to earn some income from the site then you are going to want to do some keywords research. Search engines rank sites on certain factors. One of the biggest factors is the keywords the site uses.

The sites that show up when a searcher types a keyword or keyword phrase into the search box have relevant content based on the keywords the searcher used. However, unless your site is on the first page of the search results you may as well forget about getting much traffic. Most searchers don’t go beyond the first page of results. There are many factors that determine what sites get ranked highly for their respective keywords.

Some of the factors include but are not limited to: Age of domain, Number of links pointing to that site or particular page, On site optimization (including keywords used), and number of authority sites linking to the site or particular page.

If your site is new, there isn’t a whole lot you can do about most of those factors. Many of the sites which have been around for a while have many links and have aged domain names. This doesn’t mean you have to be discouraged. You can still get a website ranked highly even on a competitive topic. You can do that by making sure you have a good tool to do keywords research.

A good tool will be able to conduct keywords research very efficiently and quickly. The best keyword tools have been developed specifically for people who want to make money with their website. These keyword tools will help you to find keywords that get a fair amount of searches but aren’t too competitive.

You’ll be able to get onto the first page of the search engine results for these keywords by building a few backlinks. Sometimes, you won’t even need that. You may be able to find keywords that as long as you optimize the page for those keywords you’ll get first page results.

Of course, the best keywords research tools are going to cost a little bit of money. That’s because these tools are so specialized. The creators of these tools have to recoup their initial investment. If they help people achieve financial success, why shouldn’t the creators make a little profit too?

Many of these keywords research tools have different features and benefits. It’s important that you choose one which will be right for you. If you find a tool that is close to another but it doesn’t have as many features, but costs less, you’ll just have to make a decision. Are the added benefits and features worth the extra money? On the other hand, if you find a tool which has features and benefits that you don’t think you’ll need, then you just have to find one which has fewer. Chances are you’ll even pay less for it.

If you’re serious about getting quality targeted traffic to your website, then you will need to take your keyword research very seriously. Some people believe that if they just make a page and slap some content up on the website that they will be able to get a ton of traffic. It used to be that easy many years ago. Unfortunately, the internet has grown by leaps and bounds. There are more and more people making sites every day. Which means your competition can grow by leaps and bounds every day.
How are you going to make sure your site is found and you get good traffic? You have to prepare and do good keyword research. While it may be tempting to try and target the keywords that get a lot of searches per month, this isn’t the best tactic to use. The sites that are ranking well for very competitive keywords probably have been around for years and have a lot of backlinks.
When you’re doing keyword research, it’s important that you keep in mind not only how many searches per month the keyword gets, but also how much competition there is for that keyword. You may think that it’s not worthwhile to target a keyword that only gets a few hundred searches per month. However, if you can target a few keywords that get anywhere from a few hundred searches to a few thousand searches per month, and rank on the first page you will do quite well.
For example, let’s say you uncover a keyword during your keyword research that gets 10,000 searches per month. However, there are 2.5 million websites who also target this keyword. While the traffic is lucrative, your chances of making it to the first page of the search results are very slim. Unless you put a lot of time, work, and effort into getting first page ranking for such a competitive keyword phrase.
Now, let’s say you uncover 10 keywords that average to about 1,000 searches per month. Each one of these keywords has minimal competition. If you create content around those 10 keywords, you will then achieve the same goal. It’s just instead of one keyword for 10,000 and fighting tooth and nail to get a good ranking, you spread it out to 10 pages of quality content which would equal roughly 10,000 searches per month.
You may think that creating content around 10 keywords is a lot more work than creating content for one keyword. This much is true. However, the time and effort you would save in trying to fight the competition with the one keyword more than makes up for the additional effort you have to spend on creating the extra content.
There are many free tools to do keyword research. However, these tools don’t usually offer important and critical features that paid keyword tools have to offer. For example, you can find keywords with decent search volume with little to no competition with free tools. However, be prepared to spend a lot of time doing this. Most paid keyword tools, are made specifically to help you find low competition but well searched keywords. It’s highly recommended that you look into some paid keyword research tools. They will help you to get better search engine rankings much faster.

One of the most difficult parts of being a Search Engine Optimizer and Internet Marketer is convincing those who are not avid Internet users of how they can leverage the power of cyberspace in order to promote their services and products online to a worldwide audience.

Many businesses, large and small, are sometimes unable to capture their greatest potential when it comes to SEO and Internet Marketing. The fact of the matter is that a world of opportunity awaits small businesses and start-up operations who seek to draw some business away from the major players.

Many small businesses rely on more conventional forms of marketing, including newspapers, magazines, television and radio, and although these media do play vital roles within any marketing strategy, ignoring the power of the web as a marketing medium can spell doom for many small businesses who get left in the dust of their competitors; web-savvy businesspeople who are only too happy to embrace the Internet and what it has to offer.

Another aspect of SEO Services and Internet Marketing that many small businesses struggle with is that many have been stung by snake oil salespeople promising them the world, but who produce no true tangible results at the end of the day. Some make false claims about their ability to rank your website #1 on Google, with the aid of some obscure keyword that nobody will ever search for, and then want to be paid an exorbitant amount of money in the process. Others promise speedy online results and easy success, both of which in most cases are not possible.

Even as a small business in a difficult market lace, you can still compete with the larger, more established companies; you just can’t expect immediate success, regardless of what some people will promise you. SEO and Internet marketing takes time, and you must strategize wisely to meet your ultimate goals.

The key for the small business though is to NOT try to compete with the big boys in today’s competitive marketplace. The larger companies generally employ marketing staff and large advertising budgets which give them the ability to target the broader, more competitive keywords that will generate the most traffic. As a small company on a limited budget, you cannot do this, not at first anyway.

What you should be thinking about is pursuing a niche market, with the ultimate goal of owning that niche. Once this has been achieved, you will be able to move onto another market.

As an example, let’s say that you are an estate agent in the Costa del Sol area. Keywords such as ‘costa del sol property’ or ‘property spain’ may generate more traffic on a monthly basis for being on the first page of Google search results, but they are very competitive and only those sites that are established and maintain a strong link profile will be able to compete. If you were based in say Miami Beach, it would be more practical for you to target terms such as maimi beach property for sale,’ ‘apartments in maimi, etc., as these are not as competitive yet precise.

The other advantage of pursuing the niche market is that the major corporate players will not be focusing on smaller niche markets, as the returns they encounter there will not warrant all the time and effort it takes to penetrate these markets; after all, they have more overheads and staff to pay. By staying small and focusing on your niche, you CAN compete; true you’ll generate less traffic, but the traffic you draw will be more focused and convertible.

Another thing to remember is that it does not have to cost incredible amounts of money to achieve these optimum results. When you consider how much some small businesses pay for magazine and newspaper advertising per month, some of this money could be better spent marketing your business online, using organic SEO and Internet marketing.

And remember, targeting the competitive keywords for your business is a long-term approach for a small start-up; it can take a minimum of 12 months to start competing for the broader search terms. By targeting your niche search terms, you will see relevant traffic hitting your site sooner as opposed to later.

I’ve been working online since it was merely an expensive hobby in the eyes of many, not a cool occupation. Now I write for many local websites throughout the US, so I thought I would share some useful information I’ve learned with Internet users from other areas.

Although there’s a great of competition in the Internet business market, it’s important to work together and share ideas in this manner; more successful Internet businesspeople means a healthier corporate climate online.

Many people are curious about localized SEO (or search engine optimization, to use the more technical term) so I thought I would share some suggestions and advice regarding maximizing the benefits of DIY local SEO. I’ve broken these suggestions down into five steps (plus a sixth bonus tip—what a deal!); obviously far more could be shared, but these suggestions provide a sound starting point, and if all of the points are applied thoroughly and thoughtfully success will be within reach for the enterprising online businessperson.

1) Localize your target keywords. If you’re a New York-based wedding planner, include all the local areas and boroughs that you want to gain notice in, such as ‘wedding planner southwark’ ‘wedding planner west London’ and variations based on local search options. Of course you also want to aim for nationally based keywords too, but the localized ones are also useful, as most of your customers will probably come from your surrounding area (that whole ‘e-mailing the wedding cake’ business has been proven ineffective, trust me).

2) Submit your site to local search engines – if you don’t already know one, rest assured there are many local sites that cater to small businesses in the local area, and businesses have listed their services there for a definite reason. Ask your friends and co-workers about the best local search engines, or—what a concept!—look them up online! Even if the sites look poor and don’t have a page ranking, that’s not the key to online success when one is targeting local traffic.

3) A simple but effective means of attracting local traffic is to display your postal address, and your business address (if they are different, or just one if the same) in a prominent location; but once these addresses are indexed, these words in your address are included in the information portion of your site.

4) Submit to local sections of larger search engines; don’t forget sites like Craig’s List, Backpage, etc., etc. They are essential to reaching the people you need.

5) List your business on the local maps section of Google, this is free and is basic SEO techniques, but many people don’t bother because they fail to see the potential benefits. For local traffic, however, it’s important.

6) *BONUS* Exchange links (and banners as well, if you prefer) with local businesses. Be frugal about this and keep the numbers down to maybe five to ten links – try and keep the businesses relevant to yours; for a wedding planner, for instance, include links to ‘chauffeur car hire’, ‘flower shops’ etc, in the local area. Just linking to some random local businesses can be effective, but SEO benefits more from relevant links, so if you are going to do it, you might as well do it right.
